A Jerusalem woman in her 50’s gave birth for the first time after many years of marriage in Bikur Cholim Hospital. Last week a woman came to the delivery rooms of Bikur Cholim Hospital with only one request, to have a natural birth. The midwives and medical staff, in trying to understand the meaning behind the request, understood that the woman was carrying a baby after many years of marriage and infertility and that she had been sent to “Bikur Cholim” Hospital by a Rabbi of one of the neighborhoods of Jerusalem. The Rabbi told her that at Bikur Cholim they would answer her request. The medical staff, moved by this unique case, assessed her medical condition and answered her request. The woman said that a year and a half ago, she decided to adopt two orphaned children and when they began to call her “Ima”, she was told that she was expecting a child. She believes that as a reward for this incredible deed of adopting the children and her many acts of kindness throughout the years, she merited to give birth to a baby girl. The woman also said that during the birth the doctors debated whether to perform a Caesarian Section as a result of complications during the birth and the woman phoned her brother who was at Meiron asking him to pray at the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. According to the woman, as soon as he had finished praying, she gave birth naturally and without any complications. For more details" Shimon Malka Hospital Spokesman: 054-6718228 |
